Liturgical Celebrations
Liturgical celebrations follow the rhythm of the Church’s liturgical year and reflect the structure of the Mass: Gather, Word, Respond, and Go Forth. Children are involved in all aspects, from setting up prayer tables to choosing scripture passages (for older pupils). As they progress, pupils increasingly take ownership of collective worship, leading elements of the celebration independently by Year 6.
Our practice reflects the belief that prayer should engage the senses, drawing on diverse methods such as:
– Scripture readings and sacred stories
– Music, dance, and drama
– Creative silence and meditation
– Use of sacred artefacts and focal points (crucifix, candles, icons)
– Links to saints, current events, and school themes
This variety helps ensure that prayer experiences are accessible and meaningful for all, deepening pupils’ engagement and understanding of their faith.

Celebrating Christmas
We celebrated the birth of Jesus at Christmas during our final assembly of the term. We had a very special visitor to our assembly; baby Tiggy, Emilio's sister, who is just a few weeks old! Welcoming our guest reminded us of the gift of a new born baby, Jesus, at Christmas. Thank you to Emilio's parents for sharing Tiggy with us today.

On Monday 9th February 2026, our KS2 children took part in a service when the palms from last year were burnt to create ashes for the parish to use for Ash Wednesday.
